What products do you use?
A whole range! I use a mix of high end and high street- as long as they perform well and are cruelty free, they get my vote. I love Illamasqua products, Charlotte Tilbury, Kevin Aucoin, Laura Geller and Violet Voss to name a few. My high street brands include Morphe, Peaches and Cream, P Louise, Milani and Inglot. The majority of my kit is also vegan, and my full kit will be 100% vegan very soon. Please let me know if you only want me to use vegan products on yourself.
Are you self taught or do you have qualifications?
My initial training was at NEMUA (North East Make Up Academy) and here I gained an advanced foundation certificate 1 and 2 in makeup and hair styling. This course is accredited by BABTAC, a not-for-profit organisation which regulates the beauty industry and and is an assurance of commitment to excellence. Since then I have done numerous additional training with schools such as Illamasqua, P Louise Academy and some one to ones with other log established makeup artists. I continue to upskill as much as possible and believe you never stop learning.
I have also completed feminisation and trans awareness training for working within the trans community.
How long will my appointment be and how long will the makeup last?
A full face application takes between 1 and 1.5 hours and will last as long as you need it to. I often get brides ready at 6am and their makeup lasts right through the day and night. I've even had a few customers that have slept in their makeup to get 2 days out of it...but I won't embarrass anyone and name names!!
Do you provide lashes?
Strip lashes are included in the price of any makeup application.
How do you take payment?
Cash, paypal or bank transfer only please.
Do you offer mobile services?
I'm mobile for bridal parties and for occasion parties for 3 people or more. There may be a mileage cost involved dependent on where you are. Otherwise I would need you to come to me. Which leads me nicely on to...
Where are you based?
I have a beautiful home salon in Netherthong, Holmfirth which I work from. The setting is idyllic and as you have your makeup or hair done you'll be looking out onto fields of sheep or cows!
How soon before my wedding should I have my trial?
Its completely up to you. I'd say a minimum of a month before your big day but I have had some brides have a trial the week before! The main thing to consider with weddings is I need a non-refundable £50 booking fee to secure the date, so some brides like to have a trial before they pay the booking fee to ensure they are happy with the final look, where as others are happy to pay the booking fee and have the trial closer to the time.
What hair services do you offer?
Mainly upstyles and curls. Please browse my website and social media for an idea of what I can do. I do not provide services such as cutting or colouring.
I also offer lessons in braiding and simple upstyles, which I do either as a group or one to one. Please see the 'Hair' section for further details.
